“Enrosadira: The Breathtaking Alpenglow That Paints the Dolomites Pink”

In Italy’s Dolomites, the ancient coral peaks glow pink at dawn and dusk in a rare natural phenomenon called the enrosadira – a magical moment that makes skiing here unforgettable.

Maybe it’s skiing beneath prehistoric, snow-capped spires or the combination of homemade pasta and austrian apple strudel. But the apres-ski scene just hits differently in Italy’s Dolomite Mountains – and the “enrosadira” certainly has something to do with it.

This rare natural event happens in the Dolomites at sunrise and sunset when the sun’s light hits the rocky peaks, making them glow in shades of pink and red.

The famous towers and cliffs of the Dolomites light up, reminding visitors that these ancient UNESCO-listed mountains were once a coral reef rising from the sea. Soon the whole world will see these stunning sunsets when the Dolomites help host the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics and Paralympics. But for now, you can still enjoy this breathtaking sight without big crowds.

For the best view, look west at sunset or east at sunrise on a clear day. The lower the sun, the stronger the colors.
