EU/EEA Visa
Living far from family, especially those related by blood, isn’t easy. And, if your blood relatives live in Portugal, you can visit them with a Portugal family visa. Third-country nationals who wish to travel to the Schengen Area to see family are eligible for an EU EEA family permit. They can enter Portugal with a valid passport and an EU/EEA visa. It allows you to stay in the Schengen region for up to 90 days over six months. With this visa, you can travel, to Portugal and visit family while the trip should last less than three months.
As for the Portugal family visa fees, the Portuguese consulate does not charge for the issuing of this visa. However, you might need to pay certain charges to an organization for assistance and other services for processing applications on your behalf. An overview of how to apply for a family reunification visa in Portugal is provided below:
- Complete the Application Form
- Arrange Documents as per the Checklist
- Visa application form
- Recent passport-sized photos
- Valid Passport
- Two copies of the first page of the applicant's passport and copies of any Schengen visas issued in the last 3 years from other Schengen countries (if applicable)
- UK Residence Permit
- EEA/EU and Swiss national’s passport or ID card (original to be seen)
- Original marriage certificate and copy
- If travelling together, a signed declaration from the EU Family Member
- If planning to join a family member in the Schengen Area who is already an EU member, a signed declaration from the EU family member confirming their intention to meet within the Schengen Area. Alternatively, they can provide evidence of an accommodation booking that includes both their names.
