Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about documents, timelines, and how we help.

What documents do I typically need for a visa application?
You'll generally need a valid passport, a completed visa application form, recent passport photos, travel insurance, flight and accommodation bookings, and proof of financial means. Some destinations add extra requirements, such as a residence permit or specific vaccination certificates.
How long does visa processing usually take?
Processing commonly takes around 10–15 working days, though this varies by destination and can extend depending on individual circumstances, application volume, or missing documents.
Can Traveller's Cafe help with the whole process, not just paperwork?
Yes. We assist with document preparation, appointment scheduling, and form-filling, and we review your file before submission so you go into your appointment fully prepared.
Is travel insurance mandatory?
For most Schengen and European applications, yes — insurance covering medical emergencies and repatriation (commonly a minimum of €30,000 cover) is a standard requirement.
What happens if my visa is rejected?
You'll receive a notification explaining the reason for rejection. In many cases you can address the issue and reapply — we'd recommend getting a consultant to review the rejection reason with you before resubmitting.
Do you charge on top of embassy or visa centre fees?
Our service fee covers visa assistance only. Embassy and visa centre fees are separate and are paid directly by the applicant, usually at the appointment.
